January 19 2021 Dade Native Plant Workshop Field Trip

New Year, new protocols.

Until the Covid Craziness settles down, we will be learning our plants IN THE FIELD!  So we will still meet at 5:00PM on the third Tuesday, but now we will meet at select locations.  I realize there won't be much daylight in January, so I have picked a small preserve where which to learn plant identification.

No December 2020 Meeting, but George Roger's Weeds of South Florida revision is available!

Go here  and scroll to bottom of the page for details.  It's only ten bucks, and worth it.

Have a Merry Christmas and learn your weeds!

Given restrictions due to Covid 19, there will be no meeting in December.  I am planning something different for 2021.  Stay Tuned!

September Update on Dade Native Plant Workshop

Greetings all,

I contacted Theresa Chormanski to determine the status of Miami Dade College, our meeting place.  They are still pretty much shut down apparently, and likely will be in October.  This is the longest we've ever gone not having a meeting since the NPW's inception.

If any of you know of a potential meeting space, whether it be a church, synagogue, club, etc. with folks who are willing to let us meet there, please let me know.   Some of you may…

May 19th, 2020 Native Plant Workshop Cancelled

Well, this COVID-19 thing has made meetings a bit difficult.  County guidelines currently recommend groups of ten or less, so that pretty much fits in with the typical number of people who attend the workshop.  However, Miami Dade College is shut down, so we do not have a facility to meet in.  I spoke with Theresa Chormanski, and she stated that maybe in the Fall (September).  Now that a third month (May) has been canceled, that leaves us with June, July, and August.

If any…
