Enthusiastic folks who wish to learn how to identify South Florida's wild plants
We are back at our usual meeting location at Miami Dade College. Our topic is the Myrtaceae (Stopper Family) containing 8 native plants in South Florida, and all of them are commonly cultivated. For a list of plants, use the Institute for Regional Conservation's online database here (you will need to select Myrtaceae under Family). Please bring in at least 3 plants, which needn’t necessarily cover the topic.
The Native Plant Workshop is FREE. Meeting time is at 5:00PM, the third Tuesday of each and every month. We convene at the Miami Dade College Kendall Campus’s Landscape Technology Nursery in the northwest corner of the campus. Please park inside of the gate. For a map and address of the campus click on above link or go to: http://www.mdc.edu/kendall/map.asp
