Dade Native Plant Workshop

Enthusiastic folks who wish to learn how to identify South Florida's wild plants

Is there one out there? Any recommendations? I know about the North American Tree Field Guide but I thought there should be a more localized book out by now. Thanks for the help.

There are several books. I liike Scurlock's Native Trees and Shrubs of the Florida Keys, but Roger Hammer's Florida Keys Wildflowers also has many tree species.
Other helpful books include:
Tomlinson's Trees native to tropical Florida: it has line drawings, the taxonomy is out of date however.
Gil Nelson's Trees of Florida

Books may be obtained at Fairchild Tropical Garden's book store and at the monthly meeting of the Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society (at Fairchild) go to www.fnps.org and click on dade chapter for details
Great thanks. I have a couple of those now and they are great.
Thanks also for the great link, I can't believe I never came accross it in all my google searches.
