Enthusiastic folks who wish to learn how to identify South Florida's wild plants
Now that the days are longer, we will have a few field trips in lieu of meeting at MDC. This Month we will meet at 6:00PM: Christ the King Catholic Church, 16000 SW 112th Avenue, Miami, FL. Park in the parking lot south of the buildings. We will be walking over some mowed pine rockland in an effort to catalog the native plants there. This mowed field is known to have a diverse assemblage of pine rockland wildflowers.

Plant List is attached as a pdf.2023.05.2023.ChristTheKingCathChurchLot.PlantList.pdf
Below are some pics from the field trip in case anyone wants to see some of the plants and bugs that were around. I was personally very impressed by the plant diversity and wasn't expecting to see even half the plants we spotted... Hope more people join future field trips and meetings!
