Enthusiastic folks who wish to learn how to identify South Florida's wild plants
New Year, new protocols.
Until the Covid Craziness settles down, we will be learning our plants IN THE FIELD! So we will still meet at 5:00PM on the third Tuesday, but now we will meet at select locations. I realize there won't be much daylight in January, so I have picked a small preserve where which to learn plant identification.
This month we will meet at Ron Ehman Park located here. Park your car (or bicycle) on the northside of the preserve, accessed from SW97th Avenue in the NW corner of the park, and we will walk south and then west along the path to the little preserve area (predominately in the SE portion off the park). We will learn Pine Rockland plants. This park is small but pretty nifty when it comes to plant diversity. Plan on about an hour (the park closes at 6PM).
Bring a loupe, pen, notebook, and a curious mind. Oh yeah, a face covering too. If you want help identifying plants from home, feel free to bring up to three.

Thanks Joe
Great trip! I posted some of my photos to iNaturalist.org, including a few plants I saw before we started at 5pm. Nice to see everyone out there :-)
