You would be quite skilled if you could identify all the grasses using a picture book.  It is our largest plant family in Florida.  Grasses are best mastered using a plant key.  This is a species of Andropogon, which is easily identify by the flat leaf bases, and the dual racemes ensheathed until bursting forth.  I cannot tell you what species it is based upon the photo.  In most cases, one needs a specimen to key out to correctly determine.
