Enthusiastic folks who wish to learn how to identify South Florida's wild plants

I will definitely print that out! thank you. I've been wanting to go to the native plant work shop for a while but I have no car which is kinda a good thing cause it's keeping me out of trouble and giving me time to go study that pineland on 152. Unbelievable that this ecosystem isn't really promoted through our curriculum!
this is Silk-grass (Pityopsis graminifolia) a native in the Asteraceae. If this is from a park, you may want to go to www.regionalconservation.org, click on South Florida Floristic Database Online in the top left, and get a plant list. that will help you greatly. You should also try and learn the families of plants, this is a classic asteraceae flower, which will help you narrow down your choices. I also recommend you attend the Native Plant Workshop which meets every third Tuesday.
