Yes, it is indeed a Blazingstar, specifically Liatris gracilis, Slenderleaf Blazingstar.  It is in the sunflower family (Asteraceae), and a very showy native wildflower.  It typically is found in pinelands across Florida.  The yellow wildflowers in your picture are Pitted Stripeseed, or Piriqueta cistoides var. caroliniana in the Turneraceae.
