Pretty sure they are the same.  The species can be variable with regards to leaf size and shape.  Floral characteristics are the best way to go when identifying them.  The only other Spermacoce you would likely have in the lawn is the native S. assurgens, but it will not have globose inflorescences, and the flowers tend to be primarily axillary as opposed to terminal.

Are the below buttonweed and original the same?  Leaves seem different...Please advise

Shrubby False Buttonweed (Spermacoce verticillata) a Florida non-native in the Rubiaceae (Coffee family). Members of this family have opposite leaves and interpetiolar stipules.  Flowers are usually in globose heads.  Although not native, it is very popular with pollinators.
