Please read attached article.  It focuses on how biodiversity is stronly linked to native plant landscaping.  Individual species mentioned largely reflect northern zones, so our focus should be on species native to south florida.  Interestingly, it discusses the importance of native insect species, which are extremely important to other wildlife, so no pesticides please.
